When it comes to offering the highest level of real estate brokerage services, Horizon Properties' owner/broker, Geof Schlittgen, holds strongly to the conviction that bigger is not necessarily better.
With this in mind, he organized a small and diverse team of professionals dedicated to providing their customers and clients a more thorough and comprehensive approach to marketing properties.
One of the cornerstones of Horizon Properties is strict adherence to the old adage about treating people in the same manner that we, ourselves, would want to be treated. We believe that the individuals who choose to place their trust in us deserve trustworthiness, and more, in return.
Geof located in Durango in 1978 and three years later founded Horizon Real Estate Brokerage as an outgrowth of his land development activity. Through the years his firm has represented people from all walks of life, in a variety of transactions from starter homes to fine estates, from smaller acreage to larger ranches, as well as commercial and business opportunities.
Horizon's brokers can provide either buyer or seller representation and are well versed in exchange transactions.
At the dawning of the new Millennium, the company evolved even further by acquiring the Christie's Great Estates affiliation. This national and international extension of marketing services inspired a name change to Horizon Properties of Durango.
