Marlene Gebhardt
Marlene is a nine-year resident of Durango where she has served on the board of the Women’s Resource Center and as co-coordinator of Snowdown. The Women’s Resource Center helps women help themselves in the areas of personal, professional and family life. She was Board Chair for two years, and concentrated on marketing and public relations. Snowdown is Durango’s annual winter celebration that “promotes fun, commerce and tourism.” “I enjoy being able to give back to my community. One way is with an organization that positively impacts people’s lives and on the other hand, working to provide loads of fun for the whole town.”
Marlene has over 25 years’ business development experience working with companies such as GE and Honeywell. She has worked in marketing, sales, and operations and as a business consultant with large companies on the West Coast. She joined Horizon in 2004 to assist Geof with expansion plans. “Horizon’s affiliation with Christie’s attracted me in that Horizon has a special niche and a well-organized plan to service that niche.” She enjoys working with people and showing off Durango's many life-style assets.
Marlene has four poodles that keep her well exercised. She and husband Mark enjoy camping, tennis, hiking, golf and skiing together.
