Michael Thunder Michael is pleased to have return to Horizon Properties where he worked with Geof fifteen years ago when he first arrived in Durango. Thunder brings years of experience in all aspects of real estate investment and sales to serve the real estate needs of buyers and sellers in both Colorado and New Mexico.
Thunder earned his Eco Broker designation and is very interested in all matters that reduce carbon footprint and make life sustainable to the Seventh Generation. His four grand children have increased his consciousness about the world our culture will leave for them.
As a consequence, he has a major interest in ranches that can be conserved for the future and homes that are energy efficient.
Thunder graduated from the University of San Francisco where he was student body president his senior year. He attended the University of Iowa Writer's Workshop and earned his MFA in creative writing as well as a contract with Scribner's to publish his first book, CALL ME MANNESCHEWITZ.
He also lived in Japan as a monk and on Orcas Island before he settled with his wife, Deborah Demme, in Durango, in 1997.
In addition to being supported in the intense process of buying and selling high end properties in the current market, his customers and clients report being sustained by his honest and courteous service and his communication skills.
Michael is the Qualifying Broker for Legacy Properties West, New Mexico where he specializes in ranch and recreational properties and upper end homes in Santa Fe and Rio Arriba counties.
