The lodge sits at 8776 feet above sea level with magnificent views of the Needles and Hermosa Cliffs. It is just one mile south of ski area and 20 minutes north of Durango. The Sow’s Ear Restaurant is a favorite among locals and was voted as the “Best Steak on the Mountain”. The dining room overlooks the West Needles Mountains and the bar wraps around the exhibition kitchen. The design of the restaurant lends itself well to entertaining large or small groups of people for private occasions.
Wildlife can be found everywhere. Whether it’s the hawks soaring above or the deer wandering by, nature surrounds the lodge. A trail has been built from the lodge to the ski area, a perfect way to enjoy the beauty of nature. Mountain biking and hiking are right out the door and are great activities to take in the surrounding landscape. Snowmobiles, horseback riding and fishing are all available within the immediate vicinity.
